The world is a big place and deciding where to visit at any given time is a tricky path to navigate. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what type of person you are and what you want to get out of your holiday or trip.

When you have decided that you are going to take a trip or a holiday, the next thing you want to think about is where you want to go! There are a few things you can do to help you decide where it is you’re going to go, but most of the time it comes down to preference and probably most importantly, your budget.

Here is my rundown of how to decide where you want to go on holiday.

What Type of Person are You?

Your destination of choice will be massively impacted by what it is you want to do while you are there. Of course, what it is that you are doing while you’re out there will probably be decided by what type of person you are. Are you adventurous? Are you relaxed? Are you cultured? All of these things are things you should consider when choosing your destination of where to go.

If you’re adventurous, then you need to find a destination that offers you great things to do while you’re there. Sandy places often have amazing quad biking and off-road options, while coastal areas have the best beaches to relax and soak up the sun.

Think about what it is you’re wanting to do while you’re away and have a look at the areas that offer the things that you want to do.

What Budget Do You Have?

For a lot of people, especially in the age bracket of mine (18-30), the cost of a holiday will play a major factor in where it is you decide to go. Chances are, you’ll end up going to the place with the cheapest flights and cheapest hotels.

If you live in Europe, destination in the European Union will always be the cheapest place to go thanks to the connection that the counties have between each other. It also helps that countries in Europe are some of the most beautiful there are. Spain is especially cheap and some of the beaches there are unparalleled around the world. Greece is also a great option right now due to economic instability, but don’t let that put you off, the people and the cities and villages are as beautiful as they ever were.

Where is Safe?

To be honest, and it pains me to say it, if you’re travelling as a woman, there are going to be other considerations that you have to take into account. Safety being a main one. There are certain countries where, in their culture, women are not as highly regarded as men, predominantly Muslim countries. If you’re travelling alone, or with a group of girls, I’m not saying you should avoid Muslim countries altogether, quite the opposite! They are beautiful and hot and will offer you an experience like no other, but be prepared to take extra precautions due to your gender.
